Rooted in coffee, growing alongside
farming families

Built on more than seven decades of coffee-growing tradition, we bring Peruvian coffee to markets across five continents.

Our story

From Loma Santa to the world

The beginning

1953

Our founders grew up among the coffee fields of Loma Santa, in Jaén, learning the art of coffee cultivation alongside their families. La Cascarilla, La Palma, Vista Alegre and the slopes of the Huamantanga Forest were where their journey in coffee began.

Cooperatives

Loma Santa

Our founders joined the Jaén Agricultural Coffee Cooperative and later helped establish the Loma Santa Cooperative with relatives and neighbors. They understood early on that working together was essential for coffee farming to become more than a means of subsistence and offer families a more sustainable future.

First family company

Café Norte

Café Norte was founded as a family-owned business dedicated to coffee. This marked our move from cultivation into processing: we installed our own coffee grading facility and began assessing and controlling the quality of each lot before it left Jaén.

International expansion

1994

Peru’s trade liberalization opened the door to direct exports. We founded Comercio & Cía. S.A. to bring coffee from Jaén to international markets. This decision laid the foundation for business relationships that continue to this day.

Programa Familia

1998

In 1998, many coffee-growing families in our region were struggling to make a living from coffee, and some were clearing new land in the rainforest to grow other crops. We began exploring why soil fertility declined and how better soil nutrition could support more productive coffee farming. Together with Molinos & Cía., we studied the soils of northeastern Peru and developed MOLIMAX CAFÉ.

Programa Familia

2003

We began sharing our knowledge with coffee-growing communities through technical assistance, credit for fertilizers and agronomic support. The program started with 380 registered farming families and grew as neighboring farmers saw the improvements on participating farms and chose to join. Our goal was to help every farm provide a sustainable livelihood for the family that depends on it.

A new chapter

2019

Comercio Amazonía S.A. was established, building on our coffee-growing heritage and bringing our tradition to international markets.
